Oxford City manager Sam Cox has made his first signing for the National League North side by bringing in goalkeeper Kai McKenzie-Lyle.
The 6’5 stopper spent last season at Folkestone Invicta. After representing Tottenham Hotspur at youth level, and later Liverpool U23s, McKenzie-Lyle joined Cambridge United in 2022.
Since then, the 27-year-old has represented Chelmsford City, Welling United and Folkestone.
He’s also been capped up by Guyana, incredibly marking his international debut in 2016 with a goal against Suriname.
McKenzie-Lyle has played alongside Cox for his country and at Tottenham.
The new Oxford boss told the club’s official website:
“I’m delighted to have Kai with us. He had some offers in the National League and the potential of that came up.
“I consider him a friend, someone who I can rely on, and a good person.”
