Emma Raducanu has silenced her critics after her bold choice to rule out the Olympics and the University of Oxford.
The 21-year-old tennis sensation recently raised eyebrows after making the decision not to compete at the Paris Olympics this summer.
This choice came just weeks after she chose to withdraw from the mixed doubles with Andy Murray at Wimbledon, which prompted a social media row with Murray’s mother Judy.
With both decisions being prompted by injury fears as Raducanu herself confirmed the clay courts in France could cause issues, many have questioned her plans this summer.

However, the tennis star responded to the critics with a powerful serve, winning her second consecutive match at the WTA 500 in the United States.
Raducanu recently travelled to Washington to compete and bested Belgium’s Elise Mertens before now dispatching home talent Peyton Stearns.
In an exciting match, the 21-year-old beat Stearns, who is ranked 51 in the world, 7-6 (8-6) 6-2.
Raducanu will now face the winner of the match between wildcard Paula Badosa and third seed Liudmila Samsonova.

“I knew it was going to be a tough match against Peyton, especially [with Stearns] playing at home,” she said.
“It’s been a good run for me in the last few months, I think I’m building some momentum.”
This comes just weeks after the Brit ruled out studying at the University of Oxford following a visit to the city.
“I’m very much focused on my professional tennis career,” she said.

“Once that’s over maybe or once I have more disposition or more time, that’s for sure something I would love to explore.
“For now I’m very much focused on the tennis.”
