The incident occurred late on Saturday morning and affected the traffic signals on the M40 J11 near the Wendlebury junctions.
It had a knock-on effect on drivers as the traffic conditions in the area worsened with long queues building up.
A statement on Oxon Travel said: “We have received reports that the traffic signals on the M40 J11 near Wendlebury junctions are not working.

This was also worsened by the adverse weather conditions in the county as rain continued to fall across Oxfordshire.
The Met Office issued a yellow rain weather warning on Friday for the South East and the county has been experiencing heavy downfalls throughout Saturday.
