Oxford’s very own Hollywood actress Florence Pugh has starred in a new Marvel movie trailer.

The 28-year-old was born in the city and has gone on to star in big cinema hits including Oscar-winning Oppenheimer last year as well as Midsommar and Black Widow.

She is now returning to her character of Yelena Belova in the new Marvel flick Thunderbolts which will release on May 2, 2025.

The story centres around a superhero team featuring members with troubled pasts including previous characters played by David Harbour and Sebastian Stan.

A brand new trailer for the film dropped on Monday with the Oxford actress playing a leading role in the new superhero movie.

The trailer comes after it was revealed that Ms Pugh is one of the top-earning stars on Instagram following new data compiled by KingCasinoBonus.

The 28-year-old star is the second highest-earning British female action star following Game of Thrones favourite Emilia Clarke.

Ms Pugh, who also starred in Dune: Part Two, ranks fifth among British action stars overall, earning up to £14,440 per sponsored post.

Her earnings on Instagram, £11,208 per post, are nearly 29 per cent higher than those of the average British action movie star, the study says.

With nine million followers and an engagement rate of 10.58 per cent, Ms Pugh’s “strong connection with her audience significantly boosts her marketability”, according to researchers.
