University staff roll up their sleeves to help at wildlife centre

The group got involved with a range of jobs over three days and had to deal with the aftermath of some serious flooding. 

A statement issued by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust said: “Thank you to the University of Oxford IT Services for their hard work on their recent team days out to our Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre.

 University of Oxford staff at Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre (Image: BBO Wildlife Trust) “Over the three days the teams got stuck in with a range of jobs on the nature reserve including clearing excess vegetation from the teaching pond, cutting back marauding brambles, harvesting veg in the wildlife garden and revamping one of our Nature Tots teaching areas.

“We’d had a lot of flooding just before the team arrived and they helped regular volunteer Malcolm to build duck boards to get our groups across the puddles this winter.”
