Damien Paintin, of Rymers Lane, Oxford, was charged with five counts of thefts, committed between May 2023 and May this year.
The 35-year-old pleaded guilty at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on July 12.
The total value of the items stolen was £403.91.

The items stolen were as follows.
- On May 27 last year, he stole £90 worth of confectionary and alcohol from the Co-op in London Road, Headington.
- On August 22 last year, he stole £138 worth of Champagne from the Sainsbury’s at the Templars Shopping Park.
- On August 23 last year, he stole £50 worth of Champagne from the Sainsbury’s at the Templars Shopping Park.
- On February 5 this year, he stole £85.91 worth of meat from Lidl in Between Towns Road.
- On May 25 this year, he stole £40 worth of Nutella from the Co-op in Rose Hill.
Paintin was handed a community order and must complete drug rehabilitation for 12 months.
He must comply with the instructions of the responsible officer to attend appointments for a maximum of 15 days.
He also has to pay compensation of £138. No orders of costs were made due to limited means.
