Oxford United will be looking to kick off the new month with a win when they travel to struggling Plymouth.

The U’s drew against Millwall last time out but that result followed three successive defeats.

Des Buckingham’s side did win against Hull before that three game losing streak but that is the only victory in the last 13.

The Pilgrims are fresh off two heavy defeats themselves, losing 6-1 at Norwich and 4-0 at Bristol City, which followed two draws and a win over fellow strugglers, Portsmouth.

However, Wayne Rooney’s side are more competitive at home. From eight games, they have lost once and picked up 11 points, which is one less than the U’s at Grenoble Road despite playing two games fewer. Both sides are yet to register an away win this season.

Oxford United will be hoping to see the return of Peter Kioso and Kyle Edwards is close to a comeback. Other than that, there are no new injury concerns. However, Tyler Goodrham is still awaiting the birth of his baby so he may miss the trip to Devon.

Ibrahim Cissoko, Morgan Whittaker, Conor Hazard and Joe Edwards are all unavailable for this game, with Rooney having to field a depleted squad.

Plymouth have won the last four meetings against the U’s, including success 1-0 victories at Home Park. However, Oxford have won on three of their last six visits to Devon.

Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Greg Leigh, Ciaron Brown, Elliott Moore, Sam Long, Cameron Brannagan, Idris El Mizouni, Tyler Goodrham, Przemyslaw Placheta, Owen Dale, Dane Scarlett.

Prediction: Plymouth Argyle 1-1 Oxford United
