The comic will bring his ‘Tragedy Plus Time’ tour, which sees him talk about the death of his brother, to Oxford Playhouse on January 17.
The show was named Best Comedy Show 2023 by British Comedy Guide, and Mr Byrne is now set to continuing performing it until almost two years after he started.
It is described as the comic’s “most personal show to date,” looking at “the most tragic event in his life”.
The show has received positive reviews, with Rolling Stone UK saying: “Hilarious, extremely dark, profoundly touching, and resolutely unsentimental.
“Ed Byrne has plumbed the very depths of his soul and found something verging on greatness”
London Evening Standard also awarded it five stars, adding: “A fantastically funny and moving monologue where there is no doubt that we are seeing the authentic Ed… Byrne has hit new heights.”
Mr Byrne has appeared on television programmes such as QI, Mock The Week, Alan Davies As Yet Untitled, The Pilgrimage, Dara and Ed’s Road to Mandalay, Dara & Ed’s Big Adventure, The Graham Norton Show, and Have I Got News For You.
He has also hosted Live At The Apollo and Comic Relief Bake Off, and recently appeared as a contestant on BBC One’s Celebrity Best Home Cook and has won celebrity versions of both The Chase and Pointless.
