University of Reading pay tribute to student who died in river

The 18-year-old Reading man Fintan was reported missing on Wednesday, November 27 after failing to return to his halls.

Following an extensive search and rescue mission, Police have reported that the body of the Reading man was found near Osney Mead, Oxford on Tuesday, December 3.

The University of Reading has released a tribute following the news.

A spokesman from the university said: “We are deeply saddened by this latest news from Thames Valley Police. The thoughts of the University community are with Fintan’s family and friends.

Students and colleagues at the university have been invited to a private gathering organised to pay tribute to Fintan.
