Public Notices: Speed limit reductions and upgrades to sports ground

They can cover a wide variety of topics that may impact your life.

They can include planning applications and appeals, road closures or proposals by pubs or nightclubs hoping to change their opening hours or make other variations.

The purpose of a public notice is to make sure anybody – either an individual or a group – with an interest has an opportunity to find out about and comment on the proposal before a decision is made on whether to allow it to go ahead.

Recreation ground upgrade: Hertford and Exeter Colleges have applied to Oxford City Council for planning permission for the upgrade of existing pitches and to add new sports facilities at the Recreation Grounds, Edgeway Road, Marston.

The application is for a lightweight canopy and enclosure housing padel tennis courts, outdoor padel courts, cricket nets and the creation of a new basketball and netball hard surface court and fencing.

The Exeter Cricket Pavilion and Hertford Cricket Pavilion would be refurbished and Exeter squash courts altered for use as a golf simulator.

The application is also for the change of use of Hertford squash courts to a cafe with changing facilities, sports hub reception area and community facilities with access, parking, cycle parking, refuse and recycling, new footpaths and landscaping.

Any owner of the land or tenant who wishes to make representations about this application should write to the council by December 20.

Speed limit reduction Watlington area: To help improve road safety Oxfordshire County Council is asking for your views on the proposal to introduce a 30mph speed limit on the B480 Cuxham Road in Watlington, replacing a 400 metre length of the current 50mph speed limit north of the roundabout junction with Willow Close in the process.

These proposals replace those that were consulted on in April 2022 that have since gone past the statutory two-year limit in which to implement the works.

The Pyrton Lane proposals have now been removed from the current s278 application and are therefore no longer included.
