The incident occurred at around 4pm on Friday, September 27 on Rampion Close in Blackbird Leys as the 12-year-old victim and their friends were on the bus.
After becoming abusive to the children, a passenger was asked to leave the vehicle but as they left, they hit the victim around the head.

Investigating officer PC Lee Dix, who is based at Oxford’s police station, said: “I am appealing to anyone who recognises the person in this image as we believe they may have vital information to assist us with our enquiries.
“Thames Valley Police has now released an image of an individual officers would like to speak to following the city assault.
