BJP leader K Annamalai leaves for UK for Oxford fellowship program | Chennai News – Times of India

Chennai: BJP state president K Annamalai left for the UK on Tuesday night to participate in the Chevening Gurukul Fellowship for Leadership and Excellence programme offered by Oxford University.
“My heart will be here. My eyes will be here. My phone is always open to my party cadre and leaders,” Annamalai said.
Earlier in the day, Annamalai told reporters in the city, “I am going to Oxford University for my fellowship for three months.All the senior leaders will take care of the party. This is the first time that I am undertaking a fellowship. Though I will be a student in Oxford, I will continue to raise issues through statements and will continue to fight with the TN govt.”
Asked about chief minister M K Stalin’s visit to the US, Annamalai said Stalin had undertaken trips to Dubai, Singapore, Japan and Spain but ‘white paper’ on investments had not been released.
“Now, Stalin is going to the US. We see the previous foreign visits of our CM as failures and hope that it does not repeat again. Let’s see,” Annamalai said.
Asked about comments of former Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan that leaders should be given due respect, Annamalai asked whether AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami’s comments were appropriate.
“When Palaniswami said that I came to power without any hard work and based on other’s recommendations, what were the leaders (in BJP) doing? Why didn’t they oppose Palaniswami then? If you say something, I will definitely hit back,” he said.
