If you’re a Potterhead like us, you must have imagined walking into the awe-inspiring Great Hall, the scene of countless feasts and Sorting ceremonies in the Harry Potter films. With long oak tables adorned with flickering candles and the high-vaulted ceiling overhead, childhood nostalgia washes all over you. And now, Christ Church college at the University of Oxford is letting travellers book a stay at this incredible destination over the summers.
What To Expect At Hogwarts aka Christ Church College
While you won’t be sorted into your house, you’ll get to spend the night in cosy rooms at three locations: Christ Church (on campus grounds), 117 St Aldates Building and Liddell Building (1km away in East Oxford). But the best part is, you get to have breakfast in the Great Hall, which served as the inspiration for the Great Hall of Hogwarts, recreated in a studio. The breakfast is a semi-self-service buffet canteen offering both British and continental breakfasts. The best part? The stay guarantees you 24-hour access to the campus buildings and grounds, which cost a lot of their own too.
How To Book A Stay At Christ Church College
The rooms are available between university terms. They cost £125 / 2 = £62.50 (INR 6500) per person for double occupancy) and £80 (INR 8200) for single occupancy.
As per the website, non-UK guests will be required to provide the number and place of issue of their passport, their nationality and their next destination. These records must be kept for at least 12 months and be available for inspection by any police officer.
