Former Reading FC star Ovie Ejaria is currently on trial with Championship side Oxford United ahead of the new season.
Oxford will be playing Championship football next season having defeated Bolton Wanderers in the League One play-off final at Wembley and are currently preparing for the new campaign.
Despite losing their Wembley hero Josh Murphy to fellow promotion winners Portsmouth, the U’s could be adding a former Royal to their ranks.
Ejaria was seen pictured among the Oxford United squad yesterday as their team took part in a pre-season friendly against Oxford City.
Ejaria’s frustrating end to his Reading career ended in December 2023 when he had his club terminated.
After a promising start to his life in Berkshire after impressing on two separate loan spells from Liverpool, the Royals splashed out £3million to make the deal permanent.
However, his final year at the Royals saw him omitted from the first-team squad first by Paul Ince and then by Ruben Selles due to injury and disciplinary issues.
The midfielder made a total of 124 appearances in all competitions for Reading and scored nine times
The 26-year-old has been without a club since departing Reading last year despite having trials with other clubs including Plymouth Argyle.
