Golf Day A Success | Oxford United Football Club

Oxford United hosted their annual Golf Day at the Oxford Golf Club this afternoon as players and staff joined teams with sponsors and supporters for a round of golf in Oxfordshire.

Head Coach Karl Robinson and Coach Leon Blackmore-Such were joined by first-team players Elliott Moore, Steve Seddon, Ed McGinty and Oisin Smyth who played in teams with our guests for 18 holes round the spectacular Oxford course, with various competitions around the different holes.

Russell Brooks won the straightest drive on the 10th while Peter Loveday and Mike Rippington won the putting challenge, winning a Spa Day each courtesy of our friends at Bicester Hotel, Golf and Spa. Lauren Haynes, Andrew Hester, Keith Broom, Matt Holland and Matt Shaw each won closest to the pin on five separate holes across the 18.

Today’s runners up went to Stewart Lodge, James Lodge, Tom Perry and Oisin Smyth but crowned the big winners of the day were James Keeble, Matthew Harris, Ross Graves and Matt Winter.

There were also a selection of excellent raffle prizes won including a meal at The Swan in Sutton Courtenay, four places in the club’s restaurant at United’s home game against Charlton Athletic, a signed football and a four-ball at Oxford Golf Club.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us on another successful event. Peter Rhoades-Brown told us:
“We would like to thank Oxford Golf Club for hosting us today and thank everyone who got involved. It was a really enjoyable afternoon as it always is and was fantastic to see plenty of familiar faces and once again be able to meet with sponsors and supporters out on the golf course.”
