Green light for ARC Oxford lab campus

Seven buildings at the former Oxford Business Park site, now rebranded ARC Oxford, will be demolished to make way for the Ascent building.

Designed by architects Spratley & Partners, the building will achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating, while delivering a 40% reduction in operational carbon emissions compared to current building regulations and achieve Fitwel certification.

The long four-storey project is expected to cost up to £50m to build and will also feature a rooftop lounge, wellness spaces and gym.

The professional team also includes MEP engineer Dalkia, structural engineer Baynham Meikle and Stantec which drew up the construction management plan for the Plot 4200 building.

Following demolition works, construction is expected to start in the Autumn for completion in 19 months.
