Norwich City winger Abu Kamara’s ‘preference’ is to join Hull City amid interest from Luton Town and Oxford United, according to reporter Nick Mashiter on X.
Hull City are keen to lure the attacker to the MKM Stadium between now and the end of the transfer window. They have until the deadline on Friday to get a deal over the line.
Kamara, 21, is out of contract at Norwich City in June 2025 so his long-term future at Carrow Road is up in the air. He has been linked with a move away throughout this summer following an impressive loan spell at Portsmouth last season.
In this latest update regarding his situation by journalist Mashiter on X, the player is keen to link up with the Tigers as he looks to progress his career. Fellow Championship sides Luton Town and Oxford United are also in the frame for his signature but he would prefer to head to East Yorkshire.
Kamara would give Hull City more competition and depth going forward if they were able to get him.
They have proved to be a good home for talent over recent times with the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Keane Lewis-Potter and Jaden Philogene all moving on to the Premier League after thriving on the platform they were given by the Tigers.
Kamara has been on the books at Norwich City for his whole career to date and has risen up through their academy ranks.
He has been a regular for the Canaries at various different youth levels in the past.
The ex-England youth international penned his first professional contract last year and made his debut shortly after in a league fixture against Sheffield United.
Kamara was given the green light to spend the last campaign on loan at Portsmouth in League One to get some experience under his belt.
He was a hit during his time at Fratton Park and made 52 appearances in all competitions for John Mousinho’s side, chipping in with 10 goals and 11 assists.
His form helped Pompey win the third tier title but he has since returned to Norwich City.
Kamara has played a few times already for the Canaries this term but it remains to be seen whether he will be sticking around.
What now for Hull City target?
Hull City face competition from Luton Town and Oxford United but it appears their targets wants to join them.
Tim Walter’s side have drawn all three of their fixtures so far as they prepare to face Leeds United.
