On Saturday I hit a personal milestone. Since joining Southwark News in late September, I have covered ten Millwall matches, and seen them rise from 16th in the table to all the way up in seventh, before they settled back down into tenth on Saturday, five points off the play-offs with a game in hand.
I’ve seen all sorts: last-minute winners, wonder goals, unfortunate defensive lapses, postponed games. I have still yet to see the Lions score more than one goal in a game.
Aside from my first two games, against Cardiff City and West Bromwich Albion, Millwall have scored just a solitary goal in every match I’ve covered.
They have not conceded more than one either, stretching back all the way to their 4-3 loss to Bristol City on the second weekend of the season.
Whether they win or draw seems …
