Padel at North Oxford Lawn Tennis Club

Everywhere we go at the moment people are talking abut Padel. Apparently the fastest growing sport in Europe, Padel is a mix between tennis and squash, usually played in doubles on an enclosed court, easy to play and popular.

Set to be the next ‘big thing’, North Oxford Lawn Tennis Club, on Oxford’s Banbury Road, has just launched Padel there to invigorate the club’s offerings, with one of the only three Padel courts in Oxfordshire.

And to ensure Padel is accessible to all, North Oxford Lawn Tennis Club has opened up the sport to members and non-members alike to ensure we can all experience this dynamic and social game.

Padel is played on an enclosed court about one-third the size of a tennis court, providing a friendly and engaging setting for players of all skill levels. Easy to learn, addictive, and perfect for fitness, fun, and camaraderie, Padel is played in doubles, making it perfect for friends, families, and competitive players alike.

“We are always looking for ways to enhance the experience for our members,” said Christian Petersen, chair of the Club. “Padel is a fantastic addition in line with our commitment to offer diverse and exciting activities. Whether you’re a seasoned tennis player or new to racket sports, Padel offers something for everyone.”

To celebrate the launch of Padel, North Oxford Lawn Tennis Club will be hosting a series of introductory events, including free trial sessions, clinics and coaching. Club sessions run weekly from 6-8pm and are open to both members and non-members.
