Kolli starts: QPR team news and predicted XI to face Oxford United

QPR are looking to continue their recent upturn in form against struggling Oxford United on Wednesday night.

QPR host Oxford United at Loftus Road tonight looking to make it five unbeaten and build on their best result of the season last time out.

The Rs defeated Norwich City 3-0 at Loftus Road, with a Rayan Kolli brace proving key in a vital win. They’ve now taken seven points from the last nine available and haven’t been beaten in four Championship games.

They remain in and around the relegation picture, but things are looking up for Marti Cifuentes and co with recent form showing they can find joy in the second-tier.

QPR should be confident of getting another three points under their belt here. They face an Oxford United side sliding towards the relegation fight having won just once in the last 13 Championship games.

QPR team news

Ahead of Wednesday’s game, QPR issued a full update on their injury situation on X.

They confirmed that while it remains unknown exactly how long he will be out, summer signing Zan Celar will be sidelined for a period of time. He came off against Norwich City due to a hamstring injury.

Kenneth Paal also came off in the win, but he is expected to be available for selection this week. Whether that is in time for tonight though, time will tell.

Karaoke Dembele is in the early stages of his rehab while Jack Colback is back on grass. In a triple boost, Ilias Chair, Jake Clarke-Salter and Michael Frey are recovering well and expected to feature before the festive period.

QPR predicted XI

(4-2-3-1)

Nardi; Dunne, Cook, Morrison, Paal; Varane, Morgan;  Smyth, Madsen, Saito; Kolli

It remains to be seen exactly who is available for QPR, but it seems highly likely to be a squad similar to the one that faced Norwich City.

As such, it could be an unchanged side from the one that beat the Canaries barring the forced absence of Celar. His injury paves the way for Kolli to start up top after an electric display at the weekend.

Lucas Andersen, Morgan Fox and Harrison Ashby are players who could feasibly come in, but to try and build on their recent form, changes could be limited.
