Luton Town are poised to be without Tahith Chong, Mads Andersen, Carlton Morris, Daiki Hashioka and Shandon Baptiste this evening, as per their official club website.

Luton Town are back in Championship action with a home clash against newly promoted Oxford United as they look to return to winning ways. They were beaten 3-1 against Plymouth Argyle last time out.

Chong suffered a knock on the head at Home Park and is now sidelined, whilst Andersen was withdrawn against the Pilgrims with a slight muscle strain so is unavailable.

In addition, the Hatters’ website has reported Morris is ‘unlikely’ to be risked against the U’s after he sat out against Wayne Rooney’s side. In addition, Hashioka and Baptiste have returned to trainign but tonight’s match has come ‘too soon’ for the pair.

Luton Town are sat in 19th place in the table after a slow start to the new season.

Not having Chong is a blow for Luton Town. He gives them more quality going forward.

The Hatters will be following close concussion protocols with the former Manchester United and Birmingham City man.

Morris’ absence is also a setback for the Bedfordshire outfit. He knows where the back of the net is at this level.

The 28-year-old joined his current club back in 2022 from Barnsley and has since scored 33 goals in 101 games, two of which have come in this campaign.

It remains to be seen how long Andersen could potentially be out for. The likes of Teden Mengi, Reece Burke and Marc McGuinness are all fit though in his position.

As for Hashioka and Baptiste, they have been in the treatment room but both appear to be making good progress.

What now?

Luton Town need to hit form soon and their game against Oxford United is a chance to return to winning ways.

The Hatters were relegated from the Premier League earlier this year along with Sheffield United and Burnley.

Their loss at Plymouth Argyle was disappointing considering they went into that one on the back of two wins on the spin against Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday.
