According to Daily Telegraph football reporter Mike McGrath, the midfielder is to have a medical with the Robins, ahead of a switch.
McGrath posted on Twitter to say that McGuane would be signing a two-year deal, plus 12-month option, at Ashton Gate.

The Robins are of course led by former U’s head coach Liam Manning, who left United for Ashton Gate last November.
McGuane has yet to feature in any of the U’s matchday squads this season, being left out for Championship games against Norwich City and Coventry City, plus the Carabao Cup victory over Peterborough United.
The 25-year-old initially joined United on loan from Nottingham Forest during the 2020/21 campaign, before signing permanently at the end of that season.
In May, the U’s announced that a one-year option in McGuane’s deal had been triggered.
McGuane has played 153 times for United in total, scoring three goals.
