City travel to Oxford Sports Park on Wednesday afternoon for their first behind-closed-doors friendly of the 2024/25 campaign.
Hoping to build on four unbeaten matches against non-league teams so far, the Grecians are set to face their first EFL opponents in newly-promoted Championship side Oxford United. The match will kick-off at 3pm at their training ground.
The U’s are a familiar opponent for Gary Caldwell’s side, having last met just under three months ago on the final day of last season. Despite a strong second half performance from Exeter, which included a goal from Millenic Alli, two early strikes first half strikes won Oxford three points at SJP.
That win confirmed a Playoff spot for Oxford, and they subsequently overcame Peterborough United in the semi-final, before Des Buckingham’s team beat favourites Bolton Wanderers to secure promotion back to the second tier for the first time in 25 years.
