The summer signing netted his first goal for the U’s with what proved to be the match-winner in the 1-0 victory at home to Stoke City.
El Mizouni finished first-time with his left foot, close to the penalty spot, from Ruben Rodrigues’ right-sided cutback.

“It was very good, it was an enjoyable game, especially in the second half, and then for me to get my first goal and the win was amazing,” said El Mizouni.
“I was very happy to score that goal. I think it’s been coming. I’ve had a few chances when I’ve come on, that didn’t really come off, and Blackburn as well with the header, but that’s something I think I need to be better at, with more goals and assists.
“I’m sure the staff and the players will help me get better with that.”
El Mizouni added: “With Hacks [Hackett], I spoke about it many times on the analysis, and he told me how important that cutback is for the two 10s when the opposite winger has got the ball, so to get the goal and score in that manner is good.
“It will help for confidence, but I knew we had a good squad and team, and anyone that comes in, we know they’re going to perform.
“It’s been an enjoyable first few months for me, and hopefully there will be many more wins and goals to come.”
El Mizouni also hailed Rodrigues for the cross which picked him out in the box.
He said: “It was a great cross. Ruben’s an amazing player and a good guy, and I get on well with him.
“We work on that in training. We know when the opposite winger has the ball in that area, the cutback is on, and the opposite 10 is going to be there. It was a good goal and a very good cross.”
