Oxford United and Goztepe are interested in a move for Bolton Wanderers striker Victor Adeboyejo, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke on X.
Oxford United have identified the attacker as a potential addition between now and the end of the transfer window. Plymouth Argyle are also reportedly keen on a swoop for the League One man this month, as reported by Football Insider.
Adeboyejo, 26, remains under contract at Bolton Wanderers until June 2026 meaning they are under no pressure to sell him before the deadline. They were beaten in the play-off final last season and are aiming for promotion again.
According to reporter O’Rourke on X, the U’s are eyeing the forward as they look to further bolster their attacking department under Des Buckingham but face competition from Goztepe in Turkey. They were beaten 3-2 away at Coventry City last time out after beating Norwich City 2-0 on the opening day.
Adeboyejo would give Oxford United more competition and depth up top.
Bolton Wanderers signed him back in January 2023 from Burton Albion to boost their forward options.
He has since made 62 appearances in all competitions and has chipped in with 13 goals, 10 of which came in the last campaign.
Prior to his move to the Trotters, he started his senior career at Leyton Orient after spells in the academies at Arsenal, AFC Wimbledon and Charlton Athletic.
The forward then joined Barnsley in 2017 and spent five years with the Tykes, scoring nine goals in 93 matches.
He was loaned out to Bristol Rovers and Cambridge United during his time in South Yorkshire before Burton Albion came calling.
Adeboyejo fired 13 goals in 34 games for the Brewers to land his Bolton Wanderers transfer.
Bolton Wanderers have a big decision to make on what to do with Adeboyejo between now and the deadline next Friday.
He is an important player for the Trotters and can score goals at their level.
Cutting ties with him would free up space and funds in their ranks though which would be useful.
Adeboyejo would be a shrewd signing by either Oxford United or Plymouth Argyle over the course of the next week as they both look to stay up this term.
Goztepe have also been mentioned though and could offer him the chance to play in the Turkish Super Lig.
