Plymouth Argyle Football Club has announced that their Championship match against Oxford United, scheduled for Saturday 7 December, has been postponed.
In a statement shared on social media, the club said:
“Tomorrow’s @SkyBetChamp fixture against Oxford United has been postponed. The decision comes after strong recommendation by the Safety Advisory Group, with amber weather warnings for high winds in place.”
The match, which pits Wayne Rooney’s 21st-placed Argyle against Oxford, currently in 17th, will be rescheduled, with a new date yet to be determined.
Storm Darragh is set to hit tomorrow, bringing strong gusts and widespread disruption to Devon. The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for high winds, which is expected to remain in effect throughout the day.
