Oxford won at home Friday night 75-40 over Anchor Bay as Jake Champagne tied the boys basketball program’s all-time scoring record.
The Wildcats senior had 22 points in the win over the Tars, putting him on 1,120 points as the team improved to 3-0.
Champagne will look to become the sole leader when Oxford takes on plays Grosse Pointe North on Sunday at Avondale.

STONEY CREEK 71, ROCHESTER ADAMS 55 >> The Cougars (1-1) got a rivalry win Friday night in their home opener thanks to 22 points from Tyree Smith, who knocked down six 3-pointers. Quentin Rangi recorded his first double-double as well with 20 points and 10 boards in Stoney’s victory.
ROYAL OAK SHRINE 43, LUTHERAN WESTLAND 21 >> Leading 8-6 after the first quarter, Shrine (1-1) won at home Friday night by allowing just three points in second quarter and outscoring the Warriors 10-4 in the third to pull away for the win.
SOUTH LYON EAST 62, LIVONIA FRANKLIN 40 >> The Cougars (1-1) won at home Friday night behind 10 points from Jackson Hewett and nine each from Jack Nowicki and Dalton Dudas. Eleven Cougars in total got into the scoring column in the victory.
FERNDALE UNIVERSITY 52, SOUTHFIELD CHRISTIAN 46 >> Arthur Stanley had 18 for Ferndale University and Tyler Stokes 16 in Thursday’s win. Ronin Seals and Levi Taylor had 12 each for Southfield Christian.
UTICA EISENHOWER 44, TROY ATHENS 36 >> The Red Hawks got 10 points from Brennen Tucker, nine each from Cainan Hanbury and Corban Crum, but stayed winless with Thursday’s loss. Randall Rice had 22 for Eisenhower, while Nolan Harbison had seven.

Layne Biggers and Fatima Younes finished with 10 and nine points, respectively, while Brooklyn Zeleny filled the stat sheet with eight points, seven rebounds and six assists.
LAKELAND 42, WALLED LAKE CENTRAL 6 >> The Eagles (2-0) glided past Central at home Friday night as Aubrin Miller ended with a game-high 14 points. Eight other players scored, including Peyton Baer with a dozen points and Morgan Dial with four, her first varsity points.
