Pune: The Oxford Premier League concluded with an exhilarating finale at the Oxford Golf Resort, showcasing the top three teams from groups A and B in tightly contested matches. Ultimately, the Poona Lions team emerged victorious, securing the prestigious Oxford Premier League Cup.

The triumphant Poona Lions, led by owners Rajiv Pusalkar and Andrew Pinto, were honoured in an evening ceremony attended by esteemed dignitaries. Shri Anil Seolekar, President of the Golf Industry Association, and Shri Aditya Malpani of Ace Golfing felicitated the winning team and gave them the accolades. Additionally, a cash prize of 10 lakhs was awarded to the champions.
Amidst the celebrations, Saurabh Roy was acclaimed as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, adding another feather to the Poona Lions’ cap.
A total of twelve teams from across the country participated in this prestigious league, including notable contenders such as the Eagle Forces, Softcell Swingers, Zingers, and Dubai Falcons, among others. With fifteen players comprising each team, the league witnessed the participation of 180 renowned players from all corners of the nation.
The tournament, held at the picturesque and well-equipped Oxford Golf Resort in Pune, garnered widespread attention and acclaim for its organization and competitive spirit. Over the course of six days, golf enthusiasts were treated to thrilling matches and extraordinary displays of skill and sportsmanship.
Looking towards the future, Shri Anil Seolekar announced plans to expand the league further, inviting more players and teams from across the country to participate in the upcoming editions. The goal is to popularise the sport and bring the excitement of golf to an even wider audience.
