Team News, Form and Prediction
Similarly to Oxford, the Rams also have an impressive home record with four wins from five but have the joint-worst away record in the division with just one point from five fixtures. That point came last time out with a 1-1 draw at strugglers, Millwall.
Oxford were boosted by the return of Elliott Moore and Ben Nelson against the Baggies and Josh McEachran could also be in contention for this fixture. Kyle Edwards is out after picking up a knock during the international break. Former Rams midfielder Louie Sibley will be hoping to feature against his former side after making the switch to Grenoble Road in the summer.
Tawanda Chirewa is out for the visitors while David Ozoh, Jake Rooney, Tom Barkhuizen and Liam Thompson are all doubts. Former U’s defender Curtis Nelson is the only Rams player to play every minute in the league this season, and has scored two goals.
Derby finished 15 points above the U’s last season as they won automatic promotion to the Championship. The Rams also won this fixture, coming from two goals down to win 3-2, but Oxford had won the reverse at Pride Park under Liam Manning, with Mark netting a brace. Derby also won the previous two meetings when in League One.
Predicted line-up: Jamie Cumming, Ciaron Brown, Ben Nelson, Elliott Moore, Peter Kioso, Will Vaulks, Louie Sibley, Ruben Rodrigues, Tyler Goodrham, Malcolm Ebiowei, Mark Harris.
Prediction: Oxford United 2-0 Derby County
