The incident occurred on Monday between 10.30pm and 11pm in Manor Road, where the victim, an 18-year-old man, was threatened by multiple men with knives.
He was then assaulted by another man whilst at a house party, Thames Valley Police said in a statement issued on Thursday morning (October 31).
Officers say that the main offender is described as a white man, approximately 5ft 8ins tall with dirty blonde hair and of an average build.

He was seen to be wearing a grey tracksuit, a grey beanie hat and a black puffer jacket.
The victim did not sustain injuries and no hospital treatment was required.
Thames Valley Police is now asking for witnesses to come forward following the assault as the force’s investigation continues.
On Wednesday morning as part of a public police appeal, investigating officer PC Thomas Gould said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to this assault incident to please come forward.
“We are specifically appealing to anyone who was at the party at the time of the offence, as they may have important witness information.

“Anyone with information or footage relating to the incident should call 101 or make a report on our website, quoting the reference number 43240521450.
“Alternatively, for anonymity, you can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
It comes as the Oxford Mail launched an anti-knife campaign earlier this year following a spate of serious incidents in the county. This included the death of 32-year-old Tobias Bruce after he was stabbed in Littlemore in February.
Ryan Byrne, aged 35, of Hathaway Green Lane, Stratford-upon-Avon, and George Stephens, aged 28, of no fixed abode, were sentenced to life imprisonment with minimum terms of 25 years and 22-and-a-half-years respectively at Oxford Crown Court last week.
Speaking after the latest incident, Anna Railton, deputy leader of Oxford City Council said: “There have been a number of knife incidents recently in the city which is quite concerning.
“We will continue to work with our Safer Oxford Partnership on these and other issues that affect city residents like anti social behaviour.
“We also lobby and will continue to lobby the police & crime commissioner for more resources to take similar crimes.
“They can have a devastating effect on communities so heading about this incident is pretty worrying and I trust police have responded promptly and effectively.”
