U’s handed right back boost ahead of QPR clash

The right back fell ill while making his international debut for DR Congo against Ethiopia in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Kioso played the first 45 minutes and was then taken off at half-time after becoming unwell during the break.

He now though returns to the fold as the U’s prepare for their trip to Queens Park Rangers tomorrow night.

United head coach Des Buckingham said: “It’s a debut I’m sure he won’t forget, but he’s now all good and all clear, and available for selection, and has trained fully for the last week.

“We just needed to monitor any potential reaction with him, but he’s been passed all clear, so he’s another that’s available.”

Kioso has played 15 times for the U’s since joining in a summer switch from Rotherham United.

He has picked up four yellow cards so far this season, therefore a potential booking at Loftus Road would rule him out of the home clash against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend.

Sky Bet Championship sides have until the 19-game mark for players to avoid picking up five yellow cards, with the QPR clash United’s 19th league match of the campaign.
