The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind in Plymouth today, as gusts are forecast to hit 50mph at approximately 7pm this evening, before reaching 60mph and above overnight.
An amber warning is in place tomorrow, due to the strong winds associated with Storm Darragh.
Gusts tomorrow are forecast to reach up to 72mph at about 1pm, with the bad weather leading to potential road and railway line closures.

The U’s said in a statement: “Oxford United’s Sky Bet Championship away trip to Plymouth Argyle has been postponed due to severe weather conditions in the South West.
“Plymouth Argyle confirmed with the club that after consulting with key stakeholders and their safety advisory group, it has been strongly advised to postpone tomorrow’s league fixture.
“This decision comes from the safety advisory group, with red weather warnings in place in areas surrounding Plymouth, which could cause significant risk to supporters travelling to Home Park, with the possibility of flying debris, road and rail closures, and power cuts.
“High winds of up to 70mph are expected in the area, therefore the difficult decision has been taken at the earliest opportunity to avoid any lengthy journeys for supporters.
“Tickets will remain valid to all Oxford United supporters for the rearranged fixture, with details of the date to be announced in due course.
“All supporters are advised to maintain their tickets until a new date has been arranged. If a refund is required, supporters can do so by returning their original ticket to the Oxford United ticket office.
“We thank you all for your understanding and we will keep you updated on any additional information as and when it arrives.”
Argyle added: “Having consulted with key stakeholders and the safety advisory Group, we have been strongly recommended by the latter to postpone tomorrow’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Oxford United, so it has therefore been postponed.
“Severe amber weather warnings are currently in place for various regions around the country, including the South West, with high winds of up to 70mph and heavy rain expected. Red weather warnings have also been issued in key supporter travel areas which will cause a significant risk to those coming from outside the city, including away fans.
“This decision has been made early to avoid lengthy travel to Plymouth in difficult weather conditions and also in the best interests of supporter safety, as we would never put the safety of fans, staff or players at risk.
“There is a real danger of flying debris and potential falling trees which could cause danger to life, with damage to buildings and homes also a real possibility.
“Roads, bridges and railway lines could also close, and the stadium and surrounding area may be hit by power cuts.”
The U’s are 17th in Sky Bet Championship, on 18 points, with the Pilgrims just a point behind in 21st place.
