The 23-year-old joined the U’s from Ipswich Town in July for a reported £400,000.
El Mizouni came through the Tractor Boys academy, and had loan spells with Cambridge United and Grimsby Town, before spending back-to-back seasons on loan at Leyton Orient.
He scored three times in 44 appearances as Orient lifted the Sky Bet League Two title in the 2022/23 campaign, and won the club’s players’ player of the season award.
Two goals across 45 games followed last season, prior to United snapping up the midfielder.

Generally used as a holding or box-to-box player in his career, El Mizouni has adopted a more advanced midfield position under U’s head coach Des Buckingham.
El Mizouni scored the only goal of the game as United beat Stoke City at the weekend, arriving in the penalty box to finish first-time from a Ruben Rodrigues cutback.
Asked whether he had a goal target, El Mizouni responded: “I never used to, but this year we did with the staff, which is good.
“The last two seasons, I haven’t been playing in that number 10 role. We used to play with a two and a one at Orient, so it was a bit different, but this season, the role I’m playing, I need to add more goals and assists.
“We did set a target, and hopefully I can reach that, and maybe more.”
